Easy Homemade Guacamole

A fresh, flavorful, and incredibly simple homemade guacamole recipe featuring diced tomatoes, onions, garlic salt, and a dash of earthy cumin. Ready in just 10 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 3-4 medium ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cup onion finely diced
  • 1 medium tomato diced (optional)
  • Garlic salt to taste
  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh lemon or lime juice or lemon crystals to taste
  • 1 dash ground cumin

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Fork or potato masher
  • Chef's knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Slice the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mash the avocados with a fork or potato masher until you reach your desired consistency.
  3. Add the diced onion and tomato into the bowl and gently stir to combine.
  4. Season the mixture with garlic salt, lemon or lime juice, and a dash of cumin.
  5. Stir well, taste with a tortilla chip, and adjust the seasoning as necessary. Serve immediately.

Notes

To store leftovers, press plastic wrap directly against the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning.
Removing the seeds and watery pulp from the tomato before dicing will prevent your dip from becoming runny.
Leave the guacamole a bit chunky for a more rustic texture.
